Silvana Duran is a Ph.D. student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at Ohio University. She received a B.S. degree in biology from CES University, Colombia. She also obtained an M.S. in food and nutrition sciences with an emphasis in nutrition and metabolism from Ohio University. Since 2014, she has been working at the Edison Biotechnology Institute as a research assistant with Dr. John Kopchick.
Her research has focused on growth hormone, diabetes and aging. Thanks to her research, she has earned several awards and grants, including the Ohio University Nutrition Research Award and the Student Excellence Award from CES University.
