Ohio University COVID-19 Dashboard
Ohio University has requested that all students, faculty, and staff on all campuses who test positive, have symptoms, or have been exposed to an individual with COVID-19:
- Fill out the COVID-19 Incident Report, and
- Call the Ohio University COVID-19 Hotline to ask COVID-related questions, to be connected to further resources including potential testing at an OhioHealth testing site or guidance to alternative testing sites, and to submit reports of positive COVID-19 tests.
Note: Ohio University has a two-prong testing strategy. Individuals who call the COVID-19 Hotline and who are symptomatic are referred to testing; these numbers are captured in the COVID-19 Hotline testing numbers. Second, asymptomatic testing is currently being conducted on the Athens Campus only. Individuals on the Athens campus may be randomly selected to be tested even if they are showing no symptoms. This asymptomatic testing allows us to identify people who may be carrying the virus but unaware of it, thus helping us prevent outbreaks before they can grow.
Positivity rates: Positivity rates are provided on the random asymptomatic testing results only as the COVID-19 Hotline data includes symptomatic testing results and people who self-identify as having received a positive test. Since 1) we do not know how many negative tests were not self-reported, and 2) only symptomatic people are tested in this category, the rates would not be accurate.
Ohio University's COVID Dashboard is updated on Tuesdays and Fridays. In an effort to be as transparent as possible, the dashboard is still under development. Our dashboard will continue to evolve with our pandemic response.
Gaps in testing data over the Winter Break Closure are due to either no tests being performed or delays in test reporting due to the the Holidays.
NOTE: Ohio University is working with its providers to resolve an issue in the testing data. The dashboard will be updated as soon as this issue is resolved.
