Ohio University has developed the following orientation sessions to assist you with your transition as a graduate student. Find more information about the following below:

REQUIRED EVENTS

  GSO - Online Module (Asynchronous - Complete anytime, anywhere)

REQUIRED

The Graduate College has developed an online orientation for all graduate students.

  • Those admitted for enrollment in Fall 2020 - Materials will be available on July 31, 2020.
  • Those admitted for enrollment in Spring 2021 - Materials will be available on December 1, 2020.
  • Those admitted for enrollment in Summer 2021  -  Materials will be available mid-March 2021.

 InternationalStudent Orientation (ISO)

REQUIRED

All new international graduate students must register for International Student Orientation.

College/Department/Program Orientation

REQUIRED

Be sure to check with your academic program regarding any additional orientation activities/events.

New Hire Paperwork for those hired as a GA, GRS, RA, or TA

REQUIRED

All NEW graduate students holding a graduate appointment will need to complete employment paperwork. Refer to your appointment letter for instructions on how to complete all necessary paperwork with University Human Resources.

The Graduate College hosts an on-campus orientation for all Athens-based students before classes begin in August. Come meet continuing graduate students and Ohio University leadership. Learn about the Ohio University and Athens communities and meet other new graduate students.

Teaching Assistant Orientation (TAO) - Fall 2020 RECORDED Virtual Event

Your academic department/program may have its own orientation. To register for your first semester, consult with your advisor or program director. After consulting with your academic program about which courses to take, find instructions on how to register at the University Registrar website.
